Josh recently stepped into the Lead Role at Pure Hoops Academy following his time as a Program Assistant with Duquesne Basketball. He develops athletes on the court, helping them increase their skills, game knowledge, confidence, and resilience.
Josh’s basketball experience includes working with Duquesne Men’s Basketball as a Program Assistant, where he was heavily involved in player development and team operations. Prior to Duquesne, he spent two years as an Assistant Men’s Basketball Coach at California University of Pennsylvania, where he helped lead the team's player development, yielding two First team All Americans, a Regional Player of the Year, multiple other All-Conference players. Before CAL U, Josh served as an AAU coach and camp director for Urban Impact Foundation’s competitive basketball program while also coaching and training at Pure Hoops. He has also spent time leading youth sports programs for the Boys & Girls Club of Western Pennsylvania.
Prior to his coaching career, Josh played four years of college basketball at Grove City College, where he served as a team captain. He earned his B.S. in Exercise Science with a concentration in Coaching, followed by a Master’s degree in Sports Management.
Throughout his career, Josh has been fortunate to work with athletes at every level, from beginners to professional athletes, helping them achieve and exceed their goals. He is passionate about building meaningful relationships with athletes and helping them reach their full potential both on and off the court.
Outside of training, Josh enjoys spending time with his wife and newborn son, playing the piano, lifting weights, listening to music, and—of course—anything basketball related. One thing you might not know after a training session with Josh? He attended high school in England for four years!
